Seasons Greetings from NOLA LEARNING SUPPORT!
Todd and I want to express how grateful we are for your trust in us and we thank you for the opportunity to work with all of our incredible students. We are excited to announce that 2021 will be a fantastic year for NOLA LEARNING SUPPORT. First, we have doubled our office space at 8131 Oak Street in preparation for in person sessions. We are not sure about a date for this right now, but we are sprucing up the office over the next few months for a fresh welcoming space for our students and families. This will include a waiting room and three large offices for sessions. Second, we are offering a new service for students with mild/moderate learning differences. We will be providing elementary and high school placement consulting including prep schools in New England. Lastly, we are in the beginning stages of starting a non-profit foundation to offer affordable dyslexia remediation for children and adults in New Orleans. This is something that is much needed in our community to say the very least.
This all sounds like a lot for the two of us to accomplish alone, and we are fortunate to have some help. Louise Kelso (Kate's cousin) is joining us in January. We are excited to have her help since she is experienced in non-profit work, business and is currently in graduate school studying Educational Therapy. She has three grown children who all have learning differences and has a strong knowledge base for students with learning differences and school placement. Not only are we excited to have her professional support, but we are also grateful for her commitment to move here from San Francisco to support students in our city. Louise is very familiar with New Orleans having visited many times since the 1990s.
Abby Mullen, our new associate as of this fall, has been an incredible addition to our team. She is providing tutorials with remediation that we plan together and she has been a great help in organizing and our materials to make Zoom sessions as comprehensive as possible with a large catalog of materials. Abby is loved by her students and we have seen some excellent progress with the lessons she has provided.
The holidays are upon us, and please note that we are taking off December 17- January 3rd to spend with our children. If exam prep or writing support is needed with Todd in between these dates, please do reach out to him as he is more than happy to accommodate.
We are offering something new during the holidays: Abby will be available at a discounted rate for current students and new students. We will still be planning individualized lessons with her behind the scenes. The discounted rates are between Dec 17- January 3rd only. 45 minute sessions will be offered at $50.00 each. Although we would like to offer 30 minute or 60 minute sessions, we have decided on the session length for various reasons. Thanks in advance for understanding.
